Vitalik Buterin clarifies he is only staking a ‘fraction’ of his ETH, not all

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has revealed that he does not stake all of his Ether (ETH) due to the complexity of setting up multisignature wallets. Buterin explained that staking requires the keys to be public on an online subsystem, which for safety reasons, must be a multisig. However, setting up multisig for staking is still fairly difficult and complicated. Charles Hoskinson, co-founder of Ethereum and founder of Cardano, expressed surprise at Buterin’s revelation, stating that all of his Cardano (ADA) is staked. Buterin also discussed the EigenLayer protocol, which allows Ethereum validators and stakers to re-stake their assets onto other emerging networks. However, he highlighted the centralization risks associated with the protocol. Buterin previously stated that the Ethereum blockchain fails without sufficient scaling infrastructure and highlighted challenges related to smart contract wallets.
