Winklevoss Criticizes DCG’s Silbert, Calls His Views Delusional

Cameron Winklevoss, the CEO of crypto exchange Gemini, has written an open letter criticizing Digital Currency Group (DCG) and its CEO Barry Silbert for allegedly playing the victim card while owing $1.2 billion to Gemini’s 232,000 Earn customers. Winklevoss accuses DCG of fraudulent behavior and intentionally delaying the resolution of the issue through abuse of the mediation process. He also calls out Silbert for claiming to be a victim despite owing billions of dollars to people. The dispute stems from funds owed to Gemini by bankrupt lender Genesis, which temporarily suspended withdrawals in November 2022 and filed for bankruptcy in January 2023. Winklevoss has given Silbert an ultimatum to accept Gemini’s final offer or face a lawsuit. The offer includes a total payment of $1.47 billion to be made in Bitcoin, Ether, and US dollars from various sources.
